A Comissão Mista de Orçamento (CMO) aprovou, nesta quarta-feira (12), a Medida Provisória (MP) 655/14, que libera créditos extraordinários de R$ 5,4 bilhões para o Fundo de Financiamento ao Estudante do Ensino Superior (Fies), ligado ao Ministério da Educação (MEC).
O relator, senador Antonio Carlos Rodrigues (PR-SP), defendeu a aprovação da proposta do Executivo. Não houve apresentação de emendas. A MP terá de ser analisada ainda pelos plenários da Câmara e do Senado.
Só neste ano já foram destinados, por meio de duas outras medidas provisórias, créditos no valor de R$ 7,4 bilhões para o Fies, programa que financia a graduação em faculdades particulares. Podem ter acesso ao financiamento – que varia de 50% a 100% do valor da mensalidade – alunos com renda familiar bruta de até 20 salários mínimos. Os beneficiários só começam a pagar a dívida 18 meses após o encerramento do curso.
